Patches & Tools

Good tools and patches are hard to find, expecially if you're looking for some special ones.

On this site i want to show you which tools i use for my sims "playing". Most of them are very useful for storytellers and skin creators, but for the normal type of players as well.

All patches are custom-made, there is no relation to EA Games and no official support!
Most of these patches got an original help-thread on modthesims2.com or other websites. Please visit those sites and don't forget to thank the various authors.

Install / Uninstall

Pretty easy like always. Install this patches by unzipping them into the Downloads Folder:
C:/My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads

Follow the additional help files if there are some. Start the game and test.

For uninstalling simply remove the same files from that directory.

The Stuff

Nude Dresses

Undress your sims. Don't confuse the Nude Dresses with Nude Skins. Due to the fact that all x-sim.com nudeskins are clothing files (no defaults) you will also need these Nude Dresses to see what you want to see. Download

No Censor

Removes the censorblur (this hack was made by Quaxi). Unpack the file into the "Downloads" Folder like always. To uninstall the hack just remove it from the folder. Download

Nude Body Shop

I think almost everybody wants to undress the original Body Shop Mannequin. This is very helpful if you're creating new skintones. And you don't have to look at that ugly standard underwear anymore :)
This good patch was made by "Windkeeper". Download

Detailed Males

Natural looking Males, not more barbie-monsters (ouch). Again: Use these meshes like outfits. Create a new sim or go (with an existing sim) into a Downtown Shop. Download

Teen Male Mesh. Download

Ultimative Camera

These files are really an improvement. Many people released their modified camera settings, i even fooled around with it by myself, but this settings by GunMod are the best i know.

Attention: All included files need to be copied into the "Cameras" folder (not the Downloads one)!
BACKUP all of the original files before you overwrite them with the new. I cannot image you might need them again, but with a backup you're on the safer side. Download

Read the helpfile that has been included! It contains very useful tips about using the different camera types.

CEP Color Enabler

You will need this one when you want to use or create custom-made objects. This is version 4.1 of the patch. Visit the official thread on modthesims2.com or download here.

Sims 2 Pack Installer

Another great tool for better and easier installing of .Sims2Pack files. Use this instead of the original installer that comes with the game. The Sims 2 Pack Installer can even handle files which can't be open by the original tool. Visit the official homepage for more info and download.
